This history class will focus on the first two generations of Quakers. Topics include: Foundations and early years of the faith, becoming a transatlantic community, and maintaining a transatlantic community. The class will meet every other Monday for three sessions, beginning on March 10.

Jordan Landes is the curator of the Friends Historical Library of Swarthmore College. Her work on Quaker history led to her writing London Quakers in the Trans-Atlantic World: The Creation of an Early Modern Community (Palgrave, 2015), which arose from her doctoral thesis, at the University of London, on the role of London in the creation of the North Atlantic Quaker community in the 17th and 18th centuries.
