In 1976, Steven Spurrier, who ran a wine shop and school in Paris, organized a tasting of top California wines to celebrate the U.S. Bicentennial. He included well-known French wines as a comparison to the California wines. We will revisit this historic event by tasting California and French wines and how they compare today, at a more reasonable price.
